My favorite book was, by far, Nine Stories. In Nine Stories, J.D. Salinger uses a collection of nine different short stories. These were my favorite because unlike his other books, there was very little description. Although there were some short stories that were pretty much only description, but these stories only lasted for a few pages. In other stories there would be very little description and a lot of action. I liked how these stories varied from each other but had similar components as well. In his other stories, Salinger would spend pages describe the littlest things in the story that had very little meaning to the plot. I would defiantly recommend Nine Stories to everyone because of it's diversity. But I would not recommend Salinger's other pieces to some of my peers. Although his other books are really well written, there is very little action and does not do a very good job engaging the reader.
